Worthing car park notice clarified amid heat network review

Details of a traffic notice affecting a Worthing town centre car park have been clarified as work on the Worthing Heat Network programme is reviewed.
West Sussex County Council issued a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order restricting vehicles travelling north along High Street from turning left into the multi storey car park. The restriction, linked to excavation work for the heat network, is due to run from March 30 until June 26, although it could remain in place for up to 18 months if required.
However, Hemiko, which is delivering the heat network, said the notice represents a broader booking for upcoming works and does not reflect immediate activity. The company confirmed the car park remains open with no current access restrictions and said the next phase of works will not begin until after Easter, with the programme under review and access to the car park required to be maintained throughout the project.
