Worthing casino applies for 24-hour opening licence

A new casino in Worthing town centre has applied for permission to open around the clock, with proposals including alcohol sales, recorded music and late-night refreshments.

Slots Trading Ltd has already secured planning permission from Worthing Borough Council to convert the former Card Factory shop in Montague Street into an arcade incorporating bingo. A notice for a bingo premises licence was published in August, and a further application has now been submitted for Wilson’s Casino. The new licence seeks authorisation to sell alcohol on site, provide regulated entertainment and offer late-night refreshment.

The application proposes alcohol sales from 10am to midnight Sunday to Thursday, and until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays. Recorded music is listed as being permitted 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Opening hours are also set out as 24 hours a day Monday to Saturday, with food and drink available between 11pm and 5am.

The applicant has offered a range of conditions to support licensing objectives. A public consultation on the proposals is open until Friday, 31 October. If required, a licensing committee hearing is scheduled to take place on Monday, 24 November, at 6.30pm.
