Worthing Community Awards Celebrate 2025 Local Heroes

The Worthing Community Awards 2025 have recognised 18 individuals and organisations for their exceptional efforts to support and uplift the town.

The awards ceremony took place at Rooms in the Guildbourne Centre on Thursday, 29 May, organised by Melanie Peters of Rocket Social Media and supported by charities Superstar Arts and Chestnut Tree House.

Winners included Atticus Allen (Best Sibling), Martin and Anabelle Pallant (Dad and Young Carer of the Year), and Abi Paine (Young Community Hero), among others. Abi, a 17-year-old athlete with spina bifida, was praised for founding The Paine Foundation to support athletes with disabilities. Worthing Town FC Inclusive was named Sports Team of the Year for its work with disabled youth and adult players.

The event also highlighted the efforts of groups like Worthing Mencap, awarded Charity of the Year, and its trustee Janet Williamson, who received the Judges’ Choice Award after 48 years of service. A special Community Impact Award was presented to Lamorna Parnell for her well-being walks initiative, while Melanie Peters was honoured for her ongoing dedication to running the awards.
