Worthing Council Confirms Car Park Charge Increase From August

Worthing Borough Council has confirmed that parking charges at all of its off-street car parks will increase from 24 August, with an average rise of around 3.5 per cent. The changes include increases from 5p per hour for occasional users and season ticket holders following formal notice of the revised tariffs.

The revised charges will apply to council car parks including the High Street, Buckingham Road and Civic Quarter multi-storey car parks, along with Beach House East and West, Brooklands Brighton Road East and West, Brooklandsand Western Road, Lyndhurst Road, Montague Centre and Teville Gate surface car parks. Season tickets at Amelia Park and Marine Crescent will also be affected. At the High Street multi-storey, the one-hour charge will increase from £1.50 to £1.55, while the maximum 12-hour tariff will rise from £13 to £13.40.

The council said the additional income generated by the increases would help support continued investment in council services. A wider review of the parking strategy is planned during 2026/27, with objectives including simplifying tariffs, improving the parking app experience and supporting local businesses.
