Worthing Council creates new parking spaces for Knightsbridge House residents

Worthing Borough Council has created new parking spaces for residents of Knightsbridge House following the closure of the nearby Grafton multi-storey car park earlier this year.
The 440-space Grafton car park was shut in May after structural inspections found sections of ageing concrete were deteriorating due to the site’s age and seafront location. The closure left residents of Knightsbridge House without access to their private parking, which was reached through the Grafton site.
The council has now designated seven parking spaces for residents on the concrete area that once served as the car park’s entrance. Some residents have mobility issues, and the new spaces have been provided to improve access and convenience. In the meantime, the council continues to market the wider Grafton site, with bids from developers being reviewed ahead of a planned redevelopment.
A spokesperson said several potential buyers had already expressed interest in transforming the area. The council expects to select a development partner in spring 2026 to move the project forward.
