Worthing councillor resigns from Conservatives to sit as independent

Cllr Charles James has left the Conservative group on Worthing Borough Council and will now serve as an independent.

The announcement was made on Friday 1st August 2025 by Adur & Worthing Councils. Cllr James will continue to represent residents in the Durrington Ward but is no longer affiliated with any political party on the council.

No further details were given about the reason behind the councillor’s departure from the Conservative group.
