Worthing FC partners with University of Brighton ahead of National League season

Worthing FC has partnered with the University of Brighton as the club prepares for its first season in the National League following promotion. The collaboration will provide access to specialist sports science support to help the club as it makes the transition to full time professional football.

The first team squad and coaching staff attended pre season testing at the university’s performance laboratories on the Falmer campus earlier this summer and will return on August 4 for further assessments before the league campaign begins. The testing programme includes sprint testing, power assessments and agility drills to monitor player performance, fatigue, rehabilitation and recruitment.

The partnership also gives undergraduate and postgraduate strength and conditioning students practical experience by supporting the testing programme under academic supervision. Worthing FC and the University of Brighton said the arrangement combines specialist facilities and expertise with opportunities to develop future sports science practitioners while supporting the club throughout the season.
