Worthing Heat Network Works to Cause Road Closures and Parking Suspensions

Motorists and residents in Worthing are being warned of significant road changes and disruptions this summer as the next phase of the Worthing Heat Network project begins.

Low-carbon energy developer Hemiko will carry out works on two roundabouts along High Street from Monday 2 June to Sunday 22 July. As part of the changes, the upper part of High Street will operate as southbound-only, except for vehicles accessing the multi-storey and surface level car parks. Vehicles exiting these car parks will be redirected along a southbound diversion route via Brighton Road, Ham Road and Lyndhurst Road. The junction from High Street onto Union Place will be closed, with a temporary two-way system introduced on Union Place and on-street parking suspended.

Additional changes include the suspension of the bus stop near the surface level car park, and temporary removal of on-street bicycle parking near the Connaught Theatre. Residents with accessibility concerns are advised to contact Hemiko via email at worthing@hemiko.com or by calling 01903 337364. Five further free parking days will be offered in Worthing town centre to support businesses during the period of disruption.
