Worthing Heat Network works to resume in September

Work on the Worthing Heat Network is set to resume in early September, with a programme of works planned to continue until October Half Term as the network is extended towards the Pavilion Theatre.

Operator Hemiko said underground drilling will be used beneath Brighton Road and Marine Parade, allowing traffic to continue to flow as normal while this section is installed. The company said the programme has been planned around local events including the Food and Drink Festival and Night to Remember, with the work due to be completed ahead of Bonfire Night.

Further work on other sections of the network will be required later in the year, with Hemiko saying locations, timings and traffic management arrangements will be announced in advance and planned with Christmas trade in mind. Previous work on the Worthing Heat Network has generated criticism from businesses and residents over disruption in the town.
