Durrington infant school praised for safeguarding and inclusive culture in Ofsted inspection

Durrington Infant School has been praised by Ofsted following a recent inspection which found the school continues to meet a strong standard.

Inspectors visited the school in Salvington Road on February 24, 2026, and highlighted the school’s safeguarding culture, inclusive environment and ambitious curriculum.

The report stated that safeguarding standards are met and said leaders and governors have established an open culture where safeguarding is treated as everyone’s responsibility.

Inspectors said pupils feel safe at the school and noted that concerns are actively identified, managed and acted upon.

Ofsted also praised the school’s personal development programme, describing the curriculum as “rich” and carefully planned to support pupils’ wider growth and life skills.

However, the report noted that some pupils still need to further develop key writing skills including spelling and sentence construction.

The report concluded: “Pupils are proud to attend this inclusive and friendly school.”
