Worthing karting talent wins regional championship and targets national finals

An 18-year-old karting driver from Worthing has claimed a regional title less than three years after first taking up the sport and is now preparing to compete at the national finals.

Keira Mcewan, a former Chichester College student who works in a café in Worthing town centre, began karting after visiting the Teamsport track in Lancing for a family outing in April 2023. She soon progressed to competitive racing events and is now one of the fastest drivers at the venue, regularly achieving podium finishes.

Over the past year she has taken part in a range of indoor and outdoor championship competitions across different tracks. Last month, she won the regional title in the British Indoor Karting Championships and will travel to Warrington for the national finals on 16 November.

Mcewan has been invited to join the TRX motorsport team for the 2026 season, with potential for endurance racing across England and Europe.
