Worthing man admits manslaughter following death of Jack Mitten

A Worthing man has admitted the manslaughter of 25-year-old Jack Mitten, who died after suffering serious injuries at a property in Tarring.

Taylor Mitten, 23, of Lindum Road, Worthing, pleaded guilty to manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility at Hove Crown Court on Friday 11 September. Police were called to Lindum Road at around 4pm on 3 September 2025, where Jack Mitten, also of Lindum Road, was declared dead at the scene. Taylor Mitten was arrested two days later and was charged with murder on 8 September 2025.

Mitten is due to be sentenced on 22 October. Detective Chief Inspector Mark Cullimore said Jack Mitten’s family continue to receive support from specialist officers and asked the media and public to respect their request for privacy.
