Worthing man arrested following seafront incidents

A 38-year-old man from Worthing has been arrested following a series of incidents on the seafront during July and August.
The arrest follows a police investigation into reports of harassment and a man acting indecently in the area. The man has been bailed pending further enquiries, with conditions barring him from the seafront south of West Parade, Marine Parade, and Beach Parade.
Sussex Police have carried out targeted patrols, reviewed CCTV, and conducted extensive local enquiries as part of the ongoing investigation.
Detective Sergeant Noel Simmonds said: “We understand that the incidents reported to us have caused some distress. Our investigation remains ongoing as we build a clear picture of the incidents that have taken place in the Worthing seafront area.”
Police are urging anyone who witnessed inappropriate behaviour or experienced something concerning to contact them quoting Operation Saltwater. They stated that even small pieces of information could help with the ongoing enquiries.
Reports can be made via an online reporting form or by calling 101.
