Worthing mayor honours charity founder for supporting homeless community

A Worthing woman who founded a charity supporting homeless people has received special recognition from the town’s mayor.

Khristina McCormack, founder of SHOUT WSK, was honoured with a certificate and flowers by Worthing mayor Cathy Glynn-Davies at a ceremony at the town hall on Tuesday, July 22. The mayor praised Khristina’s community work and described her as someone who embodies “community action and excellence”.

SHOUT WSK provides outreach to people experiencing homelessness and those in temporary accommodation. The charity also runs a zero food waste café in Tarring Road, a charity shop, a community allotment, and pop-up food banks. The mayor’s recognition was requested by SHOUT’s volunteers in appreciation of Khristina’s commitment to the town.

Speaking at the event, Worthing Borough Council leader Sophie Cox said the charity had become a vital local lifeline. She highlighted that SHOUT WSK offered more than food, providing trust and inclusion to vulnerable residents. More information about the charity is available at www.worthingsoupkitchen.co.uk
