Worthing Pier closed due to gale force winds

Worthing Pier has been temporarily closed as gale force winds have made conditions unsafe for pedestrians, according to Worthing Borough Council.

The decision was made as part of the council’s standard safety protocol during high wind events.

The Coastal Office team is monitoring wind speeds regularly and will reopen the pier once conditions are deemed safe. However, forecasts suggest the closure could last several hours.
