Worthing receives funding boost to support arts and cultural venues

Worthing is set to benefit from a significant investment in arts and culture after the local authority secured more than £370,000 pounds in government funding.
Worthing Borough Council has been awarded £371,278 pounds from the Creative Foundations Fund, part of a wider £12.6 million investment across the South East. The funding aims to improve cultural venues, enhance accessibility for visitors and support the long term sustainability of local arts infrastructure, although specific projects in Worthing have yet to be confirmed.
The funding forms part of the wider Arts Everywhere Fund, a national programme designed to protect cultural assets and expand public access to arts and heritage.
The Department for Culture Media and Sport said the investment would help ensure cultural spaces remain accessible and affordable as communities continue to face cost of living pressures.
Arts Council England added that the funding would support essential upgrades, safeguard historic buildings and help organisations continue to serve local communities effectively.
