Worthing Resident Charged with Arson in Ringmer Road Fire Incident

A 35-year-old man from Ringmer Road has been charged with multiple offences, including arson, following a fire that started from a car and spread to a nearby house. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The fire originated from a car parked on a driveway in Ringmer Road. No one was present in the property at the time of the incident. The blaze, which raised safety concerns among local residents, was quickly brought under control by emergency services.

The man, also a resident of Ringmer Road, faces charges of arson, assaulting an emergency worker, and criminal damage. He has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at Lewes Crown Court on January 8th.

Sussex Police are actively investigating the incident and have issued an appeal for witnesses. They are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who may have noticed suspicious activities around the time of the fire or those in possession of CCTV or doorbell camera footage from the area.
