Worthing Samaritans’ Charity Shop Grand Reopening

The Worthing Samaritans Charity Shop in Strand Parade, Durrington re-opens on Monday 12th January at 9 am. The shop has been closed for a major refurbishment, and staff and volunteers have been working hard over the Christmas period to make it ready, creating a vibrant and attractive environment for shoppers and workers.
Worthing Samaritans shop has a loyal customer base who keep coming back to browse the shop’s ever-changing stock. Some 25 volunteers from the local area give their time to serve in the shop, under the guidance of new shop manager Georgina.
Worthing’s Town Crier, Bob Smytherman, will ring his bell to announce the opening. Manager Georgina said “it’s so good to be opening again and I’m delighted welcome back many of our regular customers, to enjoy the new attractive environment that our volunteers have worked hard to create. We look forward to welcoming new customers as well”.
The shop is a major source of income for Worthing Samaritans, helping the charity to meet the costs of running its premises in Lennox Road, Worthing, and providing a suitable environment there for volunteers. In the last year, volunteers there answered 19,000 phone calls and over 500 web chats.
