Worthing students raise funds at pop-up Christmas shop

Students from a Worthing college raised just under five hundred pounds after running a pop-up Christmas shop in the town, with half of the proceeds set to be donated to West Sussex Mind.
CAY College, an independent alternative provision school, hosted the festive shop at Colonnade House, where students sold handmade Christmas items including decorations made from recycled materials and wooden trees produced during carpentry lessons. The event, described as a festive frenzy, was designed to showcase student work while supporting a local charity.
Staff said students played an active role in running the shop and engaging with visitors, who praised their creativity and use of recycled materials. The remaining funds raised will be used to equip a new kitchen at the college’s Worthing base on Ivy Arch Road, providing students with facilities to learn cooking skills.
