Yellow weather warning issued for heavy rain and strong winds in Sussex

A yellow weather warning has been issued by the Met Office for Sussex, with heavy rain and strong winds expected from Monday morning through to early Tuesday.

Rainfall totals of 20 to 30 millimetres are forecast widely across the county, with higher ground in the North and South Downs likely to receive between 50 and 60 millimetres. Coastal areas may also see gale-force winds as a slow-moving band of rain moves across southern England.

Forecasters say the warning will be in place from 8am on Monday until 6am on Tuesday, with some minor disruption possible. Conditions may remain unsettled into Tuesday morning before easing, and residents are advised to check local forecasts and allow extra time for travel.
